Hello again my little peaches, how are we doing? I am a bit disappointed that I haven't been blogging as often as I hoped to but this school term has been so busy and stressful that I feel like school is taking over my life right now and I have been an emotional wreck this week because people are leaving the school, we just had our last class with our lovely German assistant and I wave goodbye to 5th year as I step into my last 165 days of school, ever and I can't help but cry a little at the thought of leaving everybody next year as much as I want to leave school. It's a little bit scary. On the much brighter side I get my summer holidays in less than a week and I cannot wait! I have so much planned for the summer including a family holiday to Spain (Gran Canaria if you don't mind!), and I am super excited as I haven't been on holidays in two years let alone a sun holiday. I plan on seeing a lot more of my family around the country and spending time with friends too, I also have two summer jobs lined up I just need to make my final decision this week on which I will go for (I couldn't even find one last year, decisions), I will probably do some travelling around Ireland and visit some sights and see what my country has to offer - how bad does it sound to be a tourist in my own country, haha, I'm sure there is a lot more coming my way but I will keep you updated on that ;)
So, getting to the point of this post, at the beginning of the school year I was asked in my English class to write a letter to my 30 year old self offering advise and direction to myself at the age of 16 when, to be honest I had no real idea as to what I wanted to do with my life, but I decided to sit down and write a lecture anyway. Reading back on it now, it's not the best advice ever but I tried and I actually find it funny how naive I am. I mean me, skydiving, haha not a chance I can barely jump into a pool! Anyways, I'll stop rambling and let you read my outlandish letter!
Please stop messing up your hair with all these straighteners and curling irons, I know you feel you have to, but trust me it is just going to look as though your head is covered in synthetic hair and it will be as thin as a whisp. Surely you don't want to be bald at the age of thirty! You might want to invest in some hair oil too, your hair is as dry as a towel in the hot-press.
Seriously, stop messing up your youthful and beautiful face with all that make-up. I know you have a few blemishes here and there but buy a cream or something and stop with the make-up everyday. Enjoy your young skin while it lasts. And believe me, that won't be forever.
You're at the age now when it is time to start thinking about college and university and what you want to do. I know you are torn between law and journalism but take your time and choose carefully. Don't forget, many people who qualified in law went on to be outstanding journalists, so you could get two for the price of one! Make sure you do plenty of research and don't be afraid to go to the college open days, they are organised for a reason so use the opportunity to your advantage. The most important piece of advice I will give you is to follow your heart and pick a career that you want and will enjoy, do not let anyone interfere with your choice unless you ask them to. It is your future and your decision.
Go easy on your parents, I know they annoy you most of the time, especially your mum, but they are only looking out for you and want the best in life for you. They are just getting used to the idea of you growing up and need time to adjust, sure you will be soon off to college and they won't know what to do with themselves, especially your good ole dad. Thank God they still have Ethan who is only just entering his teens so they will have something to concentrate on while you are away. Be expecting them phone calls day and night checking up on you and what ever you do don't tell them you are out clubbing or you will have fifty phone calls during the night and speaking of which stop forgetting your jacket when you are out, you are such a pain sometimes!
I know you have a good bond with your brother but when he annoys you don't get so mad you are only upsetting yourself.
I must admit you are doing great on the fitness side of things and eating healthy, good woman keep it up. It is a good job you like football because that makes it so much easier and it is great for the ole social life too. One thing I know you are fond of is your lie-in's, so enjoy them now while you can because when you have a house with three children running around and waking up every morning at 7.30am you're going to need all the sleep you can get.
Don't forget to go travelling and see the world while you are young. My best advice for that is to go when you finish college because you are young and free and you will be able to enjoy your time with your friends. Try and build up more confidence too, it will do you the world of good and try and make a bucket list now while you have the chance. Two things I recommend that you put on it are bungee jump and a sky dive. The thought of them might kill you but you will be glad that you did it, trust me.
Don't worry if you don't stay friends with everyone forever because we both know that's not going to happen. You will be lucky enough to have a great group of pals who will be there for you and they are all you need. That's not to say that you shouldn't go out and make new friends but always stay loyal. Oh, and remember to keep up that football, it's doing you great!
So, get up, do your homework and plenty of study, you'll be thankful when you get to college or university. Enjoy being young and free, look after yourself and have fun.

15 year old me with Daddy Dempsey!
So there you have it, my advice to my 16 year old self, sadly I still wear make-up everyday because I'm not that confident and I'm slacking in the fitness side a bit but at least I have made my decision as to what I want to do when I finish school. Is there any advice you would give to your younger self if you could roll back the clock? Best of luck to everyone doing exams, you'll ace them :)
