Gran Canaria '15

Hello peaches! How's everyone's summer going? As you probably know from the hundreds of updates I've been to a little place called Puerto Rico in the Canary Islands with a bunch of my family and it was just bliss, it was like I had died and gone to heaven....I can't even explain! Our apartment was like waking up to a palace every morning and the view was amaaazing! We had a pool, a beach, restaurants, bars (especially Irish bars), and even a shopping centre right on the door step. We enjoyed a fantastic day at Aqualand, the water park with millions of waving and winding water slides that were so fast you landed in the pool in the blink of an eye, but we also enjoyed a relaxing trip on the Pirates River flowing along on a float, (which took me a while to get into), but unfortunately I don't have any pictures of that day as we were all disconnected from the world for a few hours.

We also enjoyed a boat trip to see Dolphins and go on jet skis and the banana boat, it was nice to chill for a little while after a manic week of sunbathing and excursions ;) They was always entertainment in the hotel restaurant in the evening, and I have videos and pictures of them nights that nobody should ever see! One thing that was disappointing was the food, everything was a cheaper version of Ireland's food choice and being honest I didn't have one decent meal in the week, oh and always make sure you bring your own favourite tea bags, it's well worth it ;) Apart from that one minor complaint the craic was had and of course, being Irish, we were as red a tomatoes but we didn't let that stop us from enjoying our holiday.
Now, I invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy the photo montage :)

Our spectacular apartment view that we woke up to every morning!

Stunning night-time lighting of the apartments and pool!

The mini-pool in the resort, yes there was two pools ;) #luxury

Just somebody casually paragliding over the sea.

Found myself a cat to keep me company until I got back to mine.

We had ourselves a few strawberry daiquiris, shhh ;)

It's quite normal in Puerto Rico to see helicopters flying overhead with advertisements.

Puerto Rico beach.

Just one of the many pretty stones I picked up on my stroll along the beach, (excuse the dreadful nails).

I just loved how cute and unusual this little water bottle is.

The sunlight hitting the sea sublimely whilst we were cruising on our boat trip.

Fairy lights wrapped around a palm tree <3

Our sun lounging area in the hotel.

Best Irish bar in town! The craic was mighty ;)

We called ourselves the Golden Girls on tour :D

And there we are...The Seven Holiday Makers ;)

So as you can see we really enjoyed ourselves and would have done anything for an extra few days. I can easily say it was the best holiday to date and who better to spend it with than your family.
Have any of you ever been to Gran Canaria or have you been or plan to go on holiday this summer? Let me know in the comments what you plan to get up to.

Thank you so much for reading I really do appreciate it. Until next time,
Samantha x
